Pursuing a modeling career can seem overwhelming, but here at Aura Casting, we strive to relieve the stress of casting with our expert team and individualized casting process.

Keep reading to learn about the process of casting models for projects.

  • Client meeting and artistic development.

    • The casting process begins with the client, who we are casting for, providing a brief or a meeting to lay out the artistic vision for the project.

    • Character breakdowns will be created of the vision of the characters needed such as age ranges, gender, appearance traits and/or special skills required.

  • Casting Calls.

    • Casting notices may be made on social media, through online platforms, through agencies, and/ or online listings.

  • Casting Sessions.

    • Casting calls and/or auditions may be held in-person or virtually. Here at Aura, we are 100% remote, allowing talent from anywhere to be considered.

    • Auditions may consist of just sending in a headshot, reading lines on a self tape or sending a video of you describing yourself.

  • Selection.

    • After a casting team thoroughly reviews materials, finale selections will be made based the people most suitable for the roles.

  • Booking.

    • Negotiations between model and/or their representation and the client will come to agreements on compensation, usage rights and contractual terms.

  • Pre-production.

    • Once a production begins pre-production, the model’s duties will include attending costume fittings and hair and makeup trails.

    • Rehearsals or pre-shoot meetings may also happen in the pre-production process.

  • Production.

    • Production days are the days that happen in the studio or on location shooting the commercial.

While a casting team’s job is typically done by the time production begins, here at Aura Casting we are rooting for talent, the eternity of a production time-line and beyond.
