The Basics of Talent Databases
Here at Aura Casting, we use a plethora of techniques to find the right person for the role. One of the resources we frequently utilize are talent databases.
Talent databases are platforms for all types of talent to showcase themselves for casting opportunities. Used as a resource for casting directors, producers and directors, databases are great spaces for talent to be discovered for projects.
The key elements of talent databases typically include:
Profiles.
Talent can create a profile to showcase their skills and experiences. Profiles typically include a resume, demo reels, lists of skills, physical attributes and contact information.
Filter and search tools.
Used to narrow down the search to specific types of talent based on the role in search for. Typical filters include age range, gender, location, and/ or special skills.
Networking.
Talent can use databases to network with other professionals by direct messages or by searching for contact information listed.
Casting Calls.
Talent databases may often post casting calls on their websites for talent to submit their profile to.
Talent databases are used to streamline the casting process for both casting professionals and talent by providing a centralized platform for both parties to connect efficiently.
