Here at Aura Casting, we are always on the lookout for exciting casting. So when watching a new movie or TV show the feeling of going “Oh my gosh they got them on this” is one of the best feelings ever, at least for me it is.

Take a look at a few of the most surprising guest casting throughout film and television. 

Warning! Minor spoiler alerts for: “Abbot Elementary”, “Friends”,  “Zombieland”,  “Creepshow”, and “21 Jump Street”.

  1. “21 Jump Street”

    • Inspired by the 1980s television series, star of that series, Johnny Depp made a surprise cameo in the 2012 film appearing as his original character Tom Hanson for a brief moment in the film.

  2. “Creepshow”

    • Known for his horror novels turned movies, author Stephen King made a surprise cameo in his 1982 film “Creepshow” as a dim-witted farmer. Following in line with horror auteur Alfred Hitchcock who would often make camoes in his films.

  3. “Zombieland”

    • After the protagonists of the film decide to make camp in Bill Murray’s mansion, the Bill Murray made a brief surprise cameo as his zombie-fied self.

  4. “Friends”

    • When a surprise guest his invited to thanksgiving, an uncomfortable dinner takes place when this guest reveals he started a club in high school the “ I hate Rachel Greene Club”. This hater of rachel played only by Jennifer Aniston’s then husband, Brad Pitt.

  5. Abbot Elementary

    • Set in Philadelphia, NFL team The Eagles have always been a reference point for the show. But on the season three premier the show took this reference to new heights with a cameo from Jalen Hurts, Brandon Graham and Jason Kelce, zooming into a classroom for career day.
