Self-Tape Tool Kit
Here at Aura Casting, we’ve seen our fair share of self-tape auditions and know how much work goes into creating them.
We also know how overwhelming creating a self-tape can be, so we’ve created a tool kit list to make sure your self-tape looks the best it can when we see it.
Camera
While you can use a digital camera, it’s no longer necessary as smartphone cameras have become more evolved. You can film from anywhere at anytime, including a self-tape.
Lighting
Having good lighting is an essential self-tape element. You can use a three-point softbox kit, a ring light or even a large window at the right time of day/weather.
Tripod
Whether you opt for a digital camera or a smartphone camera, a tripod is an important part of your tool kit to ensure you are framed and seen well.
Backdrop
A non-distracting backdrop is key to focusing attention to yourself. If you do not have a neutral wall in your recording space you can opt for a neutral color backdrop or blue screen to set up.
A self-tape tool kit can be as extravagant or as modest as you’d like it to be. At the end of the day these tools are to help you be seen and heard clearly so we can see your talent shine.
