Here at Aura Casting, we love to work with filmmakers on all different kinds of productions, from live theater to commercials, music videos, and everything in between.

We know firsthand how overwhelming the beginning of a production can be. We’re here to help, below is a guide to how to create and execute a music video!

Keep reading to learn more.

Step 1. Concept Development.

Creating a concept for your music video will heavily come from the song itself. You can analyze the song’s lyrics, tone, mood, meaning and style.

Step 2. Pre-Production.

Preproduction will include storyboarding, writing a script, and/ or film treatment that outlines the visual narrative and style. Budgeting for locations, equipment, crew, costumes, and other creative needs also happens in pre-production. To acquire the right actors, you can work with a casting director to achieve the cast that brings to life your storyboards and scripts. This is where Aura Casting comes into play, we specialize in finding your dream cast.

Step 3. Production.

Production will include the days that you are physically on set and shooting your music video. A smooth running day on set is the reward for the hard work spent in pre-production.

Step 4. Post-Production.
Post-Production is the act of editing your raw footage into the finished product. It includes assembling the footage, color grading, sound design, and adding visual effects.

Step 5. Release.

Once your music video is ready to be showcased you can distribute in a multitude of ways. You can choose the physical and digital location of a release as well as a marketing plan and release scheduling plan.

Each music video tells a different story, ready to tell yours? Work with us today at Aura Casting to assemble a team of actors ready to take your music into motion!
