Are you an aspiring actor or actress looking to land your dream role? The first step is getting the chance to audition for it! Self tapes give you the opportunity to showcase your talent and potentially be chosen for a role in a commercial, short film or movie. Here is Aura Casting’s complete guide to finding online auditions in 2023:

1. Online Casting Websites

There are numerous websites and online platforms that post casting calls daily. Casting directors typically use Casting Networks, Actors Access, and Backstage to post auditions, schedule callbacks and book talent. You can filter the casting calls based on your location, age range, gender, and other relevant criteria. These websites do have subscription fees, so we also recommend signing up for free databases like ours. When you register in the Aura Casting database, you’ll receive casting breakdowns via email. From there, you can submit for the parts that you are right for!

2. Find Talent Agency Representation

A great way to receive auditions is by signing with a talent agent. Aura Casting does not represent actors, but we work with talent agencies across the country to find actors for our projects. Make sure your materials are in order before submitting - You’ll need photos, a resume of your acting work and a demo reel when you apply.

3. Follow Casting Agencies on Social Media

Many casting agencies use social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook to announce new roles in their projects. Do your research to find out who casts projects in your area. By following these accounts, you can stay up-to-date with the latest opportunities. Make sure to watch their stories as well so that you don't miss any announcements.

4. Join Acting / Modeling Facebook Groups

Creative communities often ask their local network when they are working on a new project in the area. Search ACTORS / MODELS / YOUR CITY on Facebook and join a few groups today.

5. Reach out to Local Theatre programs, Film Schools and Acting Studios

There are a lot of opportunities to work on your craft, whether it’s in a class, a play or a student film. You’ll find plenty of auditions when you look up programs and schools in your area. When you join one of these creative groups, you get the chance to meet likeminded artists that will potentially collaborate with you in the future.

INDUSTRY NEWS: SAG-AFTRA and the WGA are currently on strike, so please use the resources below to determine the type of projects that you are allowed to work on. Aura Casting proudly supports the actors and writers during this time. We recommend that you follow SAG-AFTRA on Instagram for updates.
