Behind the Scenes of the IXL Learning Commercial Casting
Aura Casting recently had the exciting opportunity to cast 9 roles in a recent IXL Learning campaign produced by BX Films. You’ve got to take a look at the first spot! Here’s our inside look on how we cast these roles back in November of last year.
The Casting Process
When the project came to us, we connected with the BX Films creative team to understand their vision for the campaign. They expressed a desire for performances that felt authentic, whether comedic or grounded, that resonate with the audience. From there, we went to work on finding the perfect actors for the roles.
We opened up auditions and were amazed to receive nearly 700 submissions from talented actors eager to bring these characters to life. The high number of auditions showcased the interest and excitement surrounding this project, making our task of finding the right actors both challenging and rewarding.
Finding the Right Performances
One of the key aspects of our casting process is the ability to recognize the potential in actors and help them bring out their best performances. Whether it’s providing extra details during the audition process, answering questions that we receive or giving actors a note and a chance to resubmit, we’re always trying to make everyone shine as bright as possible. When our casting team reviewed the self-tapes, we were impressed by the dedication and creativity that everyone brought to their auditions.
Watching the tapes allowed us to see what each actor brought to the table in terms of interpretation, emotion, and character portrayal. This initial glimpse into their performances helped us identify candidates who stood out and had the potential to embody Moms, teens studying with their Dad, or kids getting a high score on the app.
The Final Spot
After putting in the hard work of casting and filming, we are proud to say that the first spot turned out spectacularly. Definitely setting an exciting tone for the rest of the campaign!
